Belt and Wheel Type Tractors for Extrusion, Cabling, Flattening and Rewinding Lines — belt type in 500 kg and 1200 kg, wheel type in 300 and 500, plus a pre-bending traction machine; traction force options from 150 kg to 2000 kg with pneumatic clamping and variable frequency or servo drive.

Wire Tractors

A traction machine (tractor) grips the wire and pulls it through the production line at controlled speed, providing the line speed reference for downstream take-up equipment. In this series:

  • Belt type tractors grip the wire between a flat belt or synchronous belt pair, with pneumatic clamping pressing the belts onto the wire — suitable where the wire surface must not be marked.

  • Wheel type tractors grip the wire on PU coated wheels. The 300 wheel tension traction uses a speed-adjusting tension lever mounted at the bottom to save floor space, and the 500 wheel tractor uses pneumatic tension speed control.

  • The pre-bending traction machine uses curved-surface traction with a servo motor synchronized with the upstream pre-bending equipment, a thickened wear-resistant synchronous belt and pneumatic tensioning.

The main drive can be variable frequency, servo or synchronous motor, and single-wheel traction machines are available in specifications from 150 kg to 2000 kg traction force.

How the Wire Tractors Work

Curved-surface traction with servo motor, synchronized with the upstream pre-bending equipment. Equipped with a thickened wear-resistant synchronous belt and pneumatic tensioning, for traction of hard wires such as titanium alloy after pre-bending.

Need a winding solution for your production line?

  • A traction machine, or tractor, grips the wire and pulls it through the production line at a controlled speed, providing the speed reference for the rest of the line. This series is used on cable extrusion, cabling, flattening, drawing, rolling and rewinding production lines handling wire and strip.

  • Belt type machines in 500 kg and 1200 kg versions, wheel type machines in 300 and 500 versions, and a pre-bending traction machine. Belt types use flat or synchronous belts with pneumatic clamping; wheel types use PU coated wheels. Single-wheel traction machines are available from 150 kg to 2000 kg traction force.

  • The series covers traction forces from 150 kg to 2000 kg, selected by line load, wire or strip cross-section and process resistance. Belt type machines cover 500 kg and 1200 kg duty points; single-wheel machines cover the 150–2000 kg range. Our team can recommend a specification from your line data.

  • Maximum line speed for the XL-WT-15 series is 200 m/min. Speed is controlled by variable frequency drive or servo, with a synchronous motor option, under PLC and touch screen operation.

  • Belt type machines grip the wire between a pair of flat or synchronous belts pressed together by pneumatic clamping. The distributed belt contact avoids the concentrated pressure of wheel contact, which suits wires where surface marks must be avoided.

  • Wheel types with PU coated wheels suit lines where wheel gripping is acceptable and a compact machine is needed. The 300 wheel tension traction pulls various alloy wires and saves floor space with its bottom-mounted speed-adjusting tension lever; the 500 wheel tractor is used for steel strip traction with pneumatic tension speed control.

  • It is designed for hard wires such as titanium alloy that are bent upstream and then pulled through the line. It uses curved-surface traction with a servo motor synchronized with the pre-bending equipment, a thickened wear-resistant synchronous belt and pneumatic tensioning.

  • Yes. The machines operate under PLC and touch screen control with selectable differential or open-collector encoder output, and pay-off mode is selectable between active and passive, so the tractor can serve as the line speed reference for take-up and traversing equipment.

  • Yes. The 500 wheel tractor is specified for steel strip traction, with a PU coated wheel and pneumatic tension speed control. It pairs with the steel strip edge trimming and recoiling units for complete strip processing lines.

  • Pricing depends on the type — belt or wheel, traction force, belt or wheel specification and drive option. Send your line type, wire or strip specification and required traction force to manager@wuhanxinglian.com or contact Felix Wen at +86 133 8765 8271 (WeChat / WhatsApp).
